The first time I tried Chuao Chocolatier was an orgasmic experience--so
much so that I had to go home and finish with my husband. ;-)
~Becky from San Diego, CA
It was your scent that made me glance your way. You had been in
Irvine, CA, and I was on a mission from work when the spicy-over-sweet
aroma snapped my head around and led me to your door. Our first physical
interchange? It was the dark-chocolate-enrobed goat cheese and pear
concoction ... and you had me at dark chocolate and pear! I spent far more
on you than anticipated, and was drastically late for a meeting, but none
of that mattered. As far as spur-of-the-moment flings go, this became a
love affair.
~Kevin from Newport Coast, CA
Oh my gosh! I was in my favorite chocolate seller store and
they introduced me to the ChocoPods! I thought I had reached chocolate
nirvana. The fabulous rich chocolate with the elegant fruit filling was
simply divine. I have given them as gifts and introduced others to the
exquisiteness of your products. Thank you from a passionate chocolate
lover.
~Judi from Benicia, CA
My first Chuao Chocolatier experience surpassed all my wildest
expectations. The combinations of flavors and ingredients in a chocolate
was incredibly delicious! I've been hooked ever since, refuse to eat any
other chocolates and have shared the Chuao Chocolatier experience with
family and friends many times over ever since discovering these amazing
little treasures.
~Mayela from Carlsbad, CA
The first time I tried Chuao Chocolatier chocolates, I was with my very good
friend Joe. He had a box of chocolates from the wonderful Chuao
Chocolatier, and upon me spotting them, he said, "My Dear, A TREAT you
MUST try!" After placing a Cambur in my hand, Joe began to describe the
flavors I was about to experience. I placed the Cambur in my mouth and
closed my eyes. "Wow.....this----this is good!" Joe nodded his head, "Oh,
it gets BETTER!" Better than that? You bet! After trying many of the
chocolates, I was in love with the rich flavors and decadence of them
all. Mix these with some gelato and a Spicy Maya Mocha and PAZAM!!
NIRVANA. Chuao Chocolatier, I love you.
~Alexis from San Diego, CA
I always watch the Food Network. 90% of the time, the places
they showcase are in NYC. Many of the chocolatiers are there as well. I
was thrilled to be in the Forum shopping and see the sign for a chocolate
cafe! It was such a treat to have REAL chocolate from a quality store
that knew what they were doing with chocolate!!
~Krista from Vista, CA
It was incredible! I didn't know that such things as balsamic
vinegar and hot spices could be applied in sweet chocolate in such
delicious way! I was impressed, I'm not going to lie. The texture of the
chocolate is so velvety, I could eat 100 of them!
~Fiorella from Oceanside, CA
My brother in law gave me a spicy Chuao Chocolatier bar.....it
was LOVE at first bite!
~Pamela from San Diego, CA
Shortly after the Forum location opened I wandered in not
looking for love. A worker suggested I try a Parchita & I walked out not
realizing my newest love and therapist was in a beautiful box. I returned
the next day.
~Shanon from Carlsbad, CA
It was like a perfect symphony of taste and flavor.
~Thomas from Rochester, NY
The first time I tried a "Firecracker" bonbon I didn't know what
was happening in my mouth. The sweet prickling was so out of the ordinary
I kept squealing with excitement. With every passing second the intensity
increased. It was explosive!
~Natalia from Cypress, CA
The first piece of chocolate I had from Chuao Chocolatier was a
Firecracker bonbon. Honestly one of the most amazing things I have tried.
The perfect blend of dark chocolate for my adult tastes, spiciness for my
wild side and pop rocks for my inner child. Wow!
~April from Long Beach, CA
Yes, I was attending a classical music concert downtown San
Diego and there was a Chuao chocolate stand giving free chocolates and hot
chocolate... I AUTOMATICALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!!! Your spicy hot
chocolate was out of this world. I have never tried spicy chocolate
before, what a surprise for my taste buds... I now buy Chuao chocolate
often at Whole Foods and other stores and I also give it to my friends.
I'm planning to take some to my relatives in Spain when I go visit this
year!!!
~Marimar from San Diego, CA
An ex-lover gave me a bar of Spicy Maya -- spicy hot, rich, and
addictive (just like the boy)!
~Margit from Lebanon, NH
My brother sent me your hot chocolate for Christmas and I have
been in heaven ever since.
~Shannon from Temecula, CA
My friend Sara received a box of Chuao chocolates as a gift and
was nice enough to share. I was amazed by the unique combination of
flavors. Now there is no comparison and I've been going there for my
chocolate fix and gifts ever since!
~Nicole from San Diego, CA
Indeed! My sister lives in La Jolla and she raved about Chuao.
One look at the storefront, and I was intrigued. One smell as we walked
in, and I was excited. One taste, and I was in love! Now every time I
visit her, a trip to Chuao is at the top of the "must do" list!
~K from Alexandria, VA
I was impressed by how tropical fruits are mixed with caramel.
at first I thought i might be too sweet but is perfect.."
~Brian from Oceanside, CA
We had heard about this place in Encinitas, so we stopped in.
For some reason, I was intrigued to try the goat cheese truffle. It
sounded awful, but whoosh! My taste buds wriggled with rapture. Then I
tried the balsamic vinegar one. The flavor blend caused me to close my
eyes in delight, and concentrate every nerve on sensuous taste. Later, at
a wine pairing event, we were dared to take a bite of the Picante truffle
and, at the same time, take a mouthful of port wine. The mind-blowing
sensation was almost enough to cause me to crush my wine glass. The
combination exploded against my palate, enrapturing my mind. My favorite
party game now is to purchase a boxful of Picante truffles from Chuao, and
give them to my guests with port. I LOVE seeing the expression on their
face when they also partake of the incredible, wonderful, stunning flavor
combination, which is so much more than the sum of its parts. Now that
I've described this, I'm craving more...I'll be right there.
~Kathy from San Diego, CA
Holiday shopping with my family at UTC in San Diego, my wife of 20
years blind folded me with a scarf and fed me my first Chuao
chocolate… let her shoe shop without complaining for the next two
hours. :-)
~Paul from San Diego, CA
I love quality chocolate and wherever I travel, I
sample... always looking for "the best" chocolate. I have to laugh when I
recall my first taste of Chuao chocolate! The quality and creative variety
is something to get excited about. And, no long trips required. One of
"the best" chocolates is in my own backyard!!!
~Kate from Encinitas, CA
The first time I visited Chuao, the cafe smelt so good and the
staff was so friendly that I bought a few of the sampler boxes for myself
and my friends. From then on we've been in love with Chuao.
~Jamie from Torrance, CA
I was a fan at first bite. Chuao became one of my go to treats,
especially when my husband was stationed in Iraq. Thanks for keeping me
sane and for all the chocolate love through the years.
~Chona from San Diego, CA
It was wonderful. The chocolate from Chuao gave me a different
stimulation. It was heavenly.
~Pam from San Francisco, CA
I stumbled into the shop one day and tried one of the spicy
Picante chocolates and fell in love! The caramelized peppers and
chocolate combination is incredible!
~Renee from San Diego, CA
No words suffice. Just sound of hmmm...lick, lick, yummy, etc.
~Beth from Encinitas, CA
I heard about Chuao, then hunted you down in Encinitas (your
only location at the time). I was fascinated by the interesting and
different flavors of bonbons made, and had to try several. Of course,
I've visited many times since to get some of my favorite bonbons (and
ChocoPods). I also took your chocolate making class. Chocolate is the food
of the gods, and Chuao does chocolate so well. The gods must be pleased!
~Edythe from La Mesa, CA
It was love at first bite when I tried the Chuao Candela bonbon
a few years ago. It was like no other chocolate I had ever had. Since
then, my boyfriend and I started a tradition of rewarding each other for
our small successes at work and at school with a celebratory box of
delectable Chuao treats. We savor the conversation surrounding the
textures and flavors of the various chocolates as much as actually tasting
them.
~Vera from La Jolla, CA
Best gelato in the world! My girlfriend and I loved it and even
licked the little gelato cup!
~Vincent from El Monte, CA
The first time I tried Chuao Chocolatier chocolates it was in a
dream, a creamy, melting, delicious fantasy. My mouth was my only sense
awake; with all chocolate liquor dripping from the smooth center of a
yummy truffle. This lead me to a pleasant place of sleep, adrift upon
cocoa clouds of desire.
~Heidi from Monterrey, CA
A friend of mine took me to a chocolate making class! It was the
most unbelievably delicious class ever!
~Kira from San Diego, CA
I was strolling around San Diego casually shopping, I popped
into a Chuao shop for something to drink. I tried the Winter hot
chocolate and it was love from then on. I allow myself a special treat of
a few special pieces of chocolate and a Winter hot chocolate. Some of my
favorites are the Firecracker, the Cambur, the Chevere and the Pan Con
Chocolate. Each piece tells its own wonderful story. Chuao chocolate is
unlike any other.
~Victoria from San Diego, CA
